MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - Police in Manchester are looking for someone who stole a car at a gas station and led officers on several pursuits in the city before abandoning it.

Police said a man left his car running when he went into the convenience store at the station on Tuesday afternoon. When he came back, it was gone. Police spotted the vehicle twice after that and tried to stop it, but it fled.

Police said the same car was seen speeding through the city and running red lights about 3 a.m. Wednesday. Another pursuit ensued, but the driver’s high rate of speed, which at times exceeded 90 mph, caused concern for public safety. The pursuit was quickly canceled.

The car was later found behind a store. It was unoccupied, but still running, police said.
