OPINION:
I found “Trump a ‘flight risk’ if criminal charges filed: ‘He’s got money, he’s got property’” (Web, Jan. 13) to be in poor taste. I found The Washington Times editors’ decision to publish it in even poorer taste. Nowhere in this fantasy article is there the suggestion of Mr. Trump’s innocence of the unspecified criminal charges that Jeff Mordock hints the president committed.
The piece reeks of the presumption of guilt. Good grief; one would have thought the article was written by CNN’s Jim Acosta. If Mr. Trump is forced to flee the country, perhaps he could re-enter by claiming he was a victim of Soviet-style political persecution, which is fast becoming a favorite tactic of our political left.
I am perplexed as to why the article contains not even a hint of concern about the Biden family’s global influence peddling by the media. Why is there no media consternation about Nancy Pelosi refusing to replace Eric Swalwell on the Intelligence Committee? It’s time to write an obituary about the demise of objective journalism in our country.
