Through a political-science examination of the evidence in “Dismantling Trump’s election fraud claims” (Web, Feb. 8) Professors Grimmer and Hall do a great job of debunking the allegations of voter fraud in the last election. However, they omit one factor: Many of the votes counted were illegal.

Even the least legally trained person can understand that the Constitution says that the states will hold elections as determined by the legislation of the state. Procedure changes by governors, attorneys general and other non-legislators could well have changed results — if someone had been allowed to investigate. With a Democratic government, now there is not a chance of investigation.
