CADIZ, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky deputies shot and wounded a man who fired a gun at them, authorities said.
Trigg County sheriff’s deputies were responding Monday night to a report of a possible drunk driver, Kentucky State Police said in a statement. A preliminary investigation found that responding deputies located a male subject who brandished and then fired a gun, the statement said. Deputies returned fire, wounding him.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, police said. No other injuries were reported.
Further information, including the identities of the deputies and the man, was not immediately released.
The shooting remains under investigation, police said.
