One of the most exciting plays of Sunday night’s Super Bowl came with both sets of players standing idle.

Late in the game, a fan ran onto the field and nearly reached the end zone before the Kansas City Chiefs. He spun out of one tackle from a security guard before racing down the center of the field. Near the end zone, a crush of defenders — er, security guards — converged.

There might’ve been a targeting penalty on the streaker, who slid down right as a security guard dove in to stop him. The streaker’s night ended with quite a wild run, giving the fans at Raymond James Stadium a burst of excitement.

But with the coronavirus pandemic, that move wasn’t the healthiest or safest thing to do.
