FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (AP) - Two people have been arrested in the death of a Virginia man whose dismembered body wasfound in a wooded area, police said Friday.

The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office said the body of Dylan Dakota Whetzel, 20, was found in a wooded area of Spotsylvania County on Monday, The Free Lance-Star of Fredericksburg reported.

Authorities said Brennan Thomas, 19, and Dominic McCall, 18, have been arrested on multiple charges, including defilement of a dead body and three related conspiracy charges. The two are being held without bond in the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. It wasn’t immediately clear if they have hired attorneys.

Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Maj. Troy Skebo said the sheriff’s office received a 911 call saying that a body was in the area where a Ford Mustang had been seen earlier. According to Skebo, witnesses claimed to have seen Thomas and McCall leaving in the Mustang before deputies responded and discovered Whetzel’s body.

Skebo said detectives found the Mustang Tuesday, and evidence related to the homicide was found in the car. Officials declined to say what that evidence was.

So far, charges have not been filed in Whetzel’s death.
