OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The number of reported coronavirus cases in Oklahoma surpassed 400,000 on Saturday with 2,053 new cases reported by the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
There have been a total of 401,780 cases, and an additional 51 deaths for a toll of 3,761 who have died of COVID-19, the illness caused by the virus, since the pandemic began in March, according to the health department.
Oklahoma was fourth in the nation in the number of new cases per capita with 855.55 new cases per 100,000 residents, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
The seven-day rolling average of deaths, new cases and the positivity rate in the state are all falling, according to the Johns Hopkins data.
The rolling average number of deaths in the state declined during the past two weeks from 37.43 to 34.14 per day, the average number of new cases dropped from 2,564 per day to 2,215.71 and the positivity rate fell from 17.44% to 14.23%, according to the data.
More than a half million Oklahoma residents, 507,512, have received the coronavirus vaccine, including 114,208 who have received both doses of the two dose protocol, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control.
