BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota health officials on Saturday reported two new coronavirus deaths, bring the number of people who have died of COVID-19 complications in the state to 1,428 since the pandemic began.

Of the people who have died from the coronavirus, 908 were age 80 and older, according to Department of Health statistics. There were no deaths of children younger than 14 and just one in the 15 to 19 age range.

An additional 80 people tested positive since Friday and 115 individuals were newly recovered from the virus. Health officials say 4,060 additional tests were handled with a daily positivity rate at 2.49%.



Cumulatively, 1,556,717 coronavirus tests have been processed since the pandemic began with a positivity rate of 24.7%.

Currently, 36 coronavirus patients are hospitalized with 8 people in the intensive care unit. That’s an increase of three people since Friday.
