TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson police say a man was fatally shot by a police officer during a traffic stop shortly after the man seriously injured his estranged wife after following her to the hospital where she worked.
Police said the officer who pulled over 34-year-old Andrew Scott Kislek and then shot him during a confrontation Monday wasn’t aware that Kislek a short time earlier had used his vehicle to strike his wife’s vehicle and then fired several shots into it.
Kislek was pronounced dead at the convenience store parking lot where the confrontation with the officer occurred. That location was several blocks away from where Kislek’s wife was attacked in a parking lot of the Tucson Veteran Affairs Medical Center.
Police are conducting criminal and administrative investigations.
