I think it’s great that Bruce Springsteen and former President Obama have struck up such a good friendship that they’ve started a podcast. I have just the topic for them to tackle in their next episode.

Since the Democratic Party has now set the precedent of impeaching a former president after he leaves office, I would love to hear Mr. Obama and Mr. Springsteen discuss why former President George W. Bush has not been impeached for “lying to us about an unjust war to enrich his friends.” That was a charge the Democrats leveled against Mr. Bush during the final 66 months of his tenure, yet they’ve never bothered to lift a legislative finger against this egregiously impeachable offense.

If the Democrats can impeach a former president who was charged with inciting a riot that resulted in the death of one person, surely another GOP president who authorized an “illegal” war that killed 4,500 American servicemen and thousands of innocent Iraqis shouldn’t be let off the hook.

This was a big deal to Mr. Springsteen for the better part of the 2000s, and he even led the charge with his “Vote for Change” tour during the 2004 election cycle. His 2007 album, “Magic,” touched on the various themes and consequences of Mr. Bush’s illegal war.

I can’t think of a better tandem than these two to publicly discuss bringing impeachment — and even criminal — charges against former President George W. Bush.
