Leadership brings with it responsibility. Simply put, we look to leaders to lead us, give us accurate information, guidance and most importantly, the truth. Failures can cause a loss of money, health and, at worst, deadly results.

As a candidate, now Vice President Kamala Harris voiced strong skepticism about the novel coronavirus vaccines, tying this concern to her distrust of President Trump and anything connected to him. Now we have a problem. Many Black Americans are reluctant to take the vaccine. This will lead to unnecessary deaths in the Black communities of America.

I feel very strongly that Ms. Harris should make a concerted effort to encourage Black communities to take the life-saving vaccinations and avoid unnecessary death in the future. And she should do it immediately.
