CHILLICOTHE, Mo. (AP) - A northwest Missouri man was shot to death after he reportedly attacked a Livingston County Sheriff’s deputy while they were sitting inside a patrol car, authorities said.
Timothy D. Frandson, 34, of Marceline, was shot Friday on Highway 36 near Chillicothe after the deputy responded to a vehicle accident.
When they were inside the patrol car, Frandson allegedly grabbed the deputy’s microphone and repeatedly hit him with it, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
The deputy fired at least one round at Frandson, who died at the scene, The St. Joseph News-Press reported.
The deputy suffered moderate injuries and was released from a hospital.
The Highway Patrol is investigating the shooting.
