RENO, Nev. (AP) - Reno police have arrested a 39-year-old man suspected of murder in a shooting in July 2019 that left one person dead and three others injured.
Kelly Gillig is the third person charged in connection with the shooting at an apartment just east of downtown that police say was sparked by an earlier dispute over drugs. Two other men earlier pleaded guilty to related charges.
Gillig was being held Friday in the Washoe County Jail without bail on charges of open murder and burglary while in possession of a deadly weapon in the death of 18-year-old Jordan Reynoso. It’s not clear if he has a lawyer or will be appointed one.
Police say Gillig was one of three men who fired shots into a woman’s Spokane Street apartment for payback after a shooting and drug deal the week before. Reynoso was in the apartment below and came to check on the woman before he was shot and killed.
Two other suspects, Juan Chavez and Antonio Sotelo, both pleaded guilty and were sentenced last year.
