MANALAPAN, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a New Jersey apartment fire left a man dead over the weekend, authorities said.
The blaze was reported in a second-floor unit in the Covered Bridge neighborhood of Manalapan at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday, officials in Monmouth County said.
Authorities said a man became trapped in the burning residence and died. His name wasn’t immediately released.
The county fire marshal is investigating, but Cynthia Scott of the county sheriff’s office told NJ.com that the blaze appears to have been accidental.
