CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) - A small airplane made an emergency landing on a Florida expressway Saturday, temporarily closing a stretch of the southbound lanes of the toll road in Coral Springs.
Coral Springs police said there were no injuries after the single-engine airplane touched down Saturday morning. By 12:30 p.m. the aircraft was removed and traffic reopened.
The Miami Herald reported it was the not the first time an airplane has made an emergency landing on the Sawgrass Expressway.
Last August, a small plane was forced to land on the roadway after experiencing mechanical problems. There were no injuries then either.
