HILLSBORO, Mo. (AP) - The former president of a police charity has been sentenced to probation after she admitted she stole money from the charity and took funds intended for a paralyzed police officer.

Angela McMunn, of De Soto, was placed on five years of probation Tuesday and ordered to repay nearly $25,000 she stole. She pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property and unlawful merchandising practices. If she violates probation, she faces four years in prison.

McMunn was president of Jefferson County Shop with a Cop, a non-profit organization that helped underprivileged children. She used $18,398 from the organization’s bank account for her personal needs, prosecutors said.

She also collected funds for former Ballwin police Officer Michael Flamion after he was shot and paralyzed in the line of duty in 2016, but used the $6,498 collected for herself, KFVS reported.
