From the moment of our founding as a country, there have always been very strong partisan disagreements — but there has also traditionally been patriotism and love of country on both sides.

In our hearts, most Americans have always believed in the principles set forth by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration Of Independence and the genius of the Constitution. Even when disagreement over slavery became an existential threat to the Union, we had Lincoln’s words at Gettysburg to fall back on.

Today however, progressive Democrats believe that Marxism is a better way forward than capitalism, and they are prepared to destroy the Constitution of 1787 in favor of a new, Marxist constitution. This would in effect replace God with government as the supreme power in American life.

Most Americans are likely aware that Marxist socialism has been tried many times throughout the world — and that it has failed miserably everywhere it’s ever been tried. It has frequently led to the creation of totalitarian states. On the other hand, free-market capitalism, though an imperfect system, has worked for more than 200 years in America and the world. It has lifted more people out of poverty than any system in human history. Yet American Marxists still believe they can make it work. To do so, they have taken control of the country.

The results of this attempted takeover of the American system of government could be catastrophic. Many Americans are living in fear that recent events suggest we may have been insufficiently vigilant in protecting ourselves from enemies within our own borders.

Have I stated the current situation accurately or have I exaggerated?
