COFFEYVILLE, Kan. (AP) - The death of a man inside a Coffeyville home was a homicide, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation said Friday.
Coffeyville police who went to a home Wednesday night on a request to check the welfare of a person found the man dead.
A preliminary autopsy indicated the man’s death was a homicide but the KBI did not say how he was killed.
It will take time to identify the man because of the body’s advanced state of decomposition, the agency said.
A Coffeyville woman, Jennifer R. Garnett, 37, was arrested Friday in connection to the case. She was jailed in Montgomery County on possible charges of burglary, theft, forgery and criminal use of a credit card. The KBI did not explain the connection the man’s death.
