INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (AP) - Police in suburban Kansas City were investigating after a person was found dead outside a home early Wednesday morning in Independence.
Officers were called around 1:50 a.m. to the house along South Crescent Avenue for reports of gunfire, police said. Arriving officers found a person dead outside the home. The victim’s name was not immediately released.
Police blocked off the home and part of the street as they investigated. Officer John Syme, a spokesman for the Independence Police Department, said police were awaiting approval of a search warrant to enter the home and see if anyone was inside.
