BROSELEY, Mo. (AP) - A southeastern Missouri woman was hit and killed by a vehicle over the weekend, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, on Highway 51, about four miles north of Broseley, television station KFVS reported.

Melissa Mayo, 36, of Poplar Bluff, was in the roadway when she was hit by a pickup truck traveling south on the highway, patrol investigators said. Mayo died at the scene.



The 17-year-old driver of the truck was not injured in the crash, officials said.
