POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A 2-year-old girl died at a South Florida home Friday morning in an incident involving a piece of furniture, officials said.
A caller alerted the Broward Sheriff’s Office to a death at a Pompano Beach home around 8:40 a.m., agency spokesman Carey Codd told news outlets.
“This remains an active and ongoing investigation,” Codd said. “At this point, detectives are interviewing people who were inside the home (and) they’re gathering evidence from the scene.”
The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
