FAIRFIELD, Maine (AP) - The Maine Office of State Fire Marshal says a woman died and a man was seriously injured in a fire in Fairfield on Saturday.
Officials say that 56-year-old Rebecca Merrifield died at the scene and that 60-year-old Glenn Clausen was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, the Morning Sentinel reported.
Fairfield Fire Chief Duane Bickford could not be immediately reached for comment.
The Maine Office of State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
