RICHFORD, Vt. (AP) - The Franklin Northeast Supervisory Union in Richford is seeking new office space.
The school district sent out a request to four locations on Wednesday detailing its requirements for leasing or purchasing space, the St. Albans Messenger reported. The district needs room for 17 full-time and seven itinerant staff and three separate work spaces and the office must be Americans with Disabilities Act compliant.
“The discussion started because we are outgrowing the current space we are in, and additionally the board has tuned into the point that our central office is not central to the district,” Morgan Daybell, the supervisory union’s business manager, said recently, according to the newspaper.
The district is considering space at the old National Guard Armory and Perley Block in Enosburg Falls in addition to the People’s Plaza and the former TD Bank in Richford.
Business manager Morgan Daybell thinks there there might be space in the armory even though the town of Enosburg recently announced that it’s decided to move its town offices there.
The supervisory union, which comprises of schools in Bakersfield, Berkshire, Enosburg, Montgomery, Richford and Sheldon, hopes to start leasing space no later than July 1, 2022. It now leases 3,585 square feet of office space in Richford for $24,000 per year.
