OPINION:
Despite sexual-assault accusations, Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax, a Democrat, is now running for governor. With the recent passing and replacement-delegate nomination of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, I do wonder where #MeToo rallies have been.
While Ginsburg was a supporter of and trailblazer for gender equality, the media has aided in the unjust persecutions of several innocent men. Having dealt with gender inequality and victimizations myself, I am wondering if we will witness any #MeToo protests during this Virginia gubernatorial balloting.
As some Virginia political celebrities stand in support of Mr. Fairfax, has the #MeToo movement and its allies become disillusioned?
The truth hurts. And the truth is that those elected or appointed are privileged elitists who hold themselves above the constituents they’re meant to serve.
