A Kansas City, Missouri, man who told an off-duty police officer that something had happened and someone was dead has been charged in the killing of his girlfriend, prosecutors said Friday.

Kelshaun D. Moseley, 28, was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the in the fatal shooting of 34-year-old Keva Hill, according to a news release from the Jackson County prosecutors office.

Hill’s mother told police that the two had been dating for about a month and that her daughter had just moved in with him about a week prior to her death, the Kansas City Star reported.



On Thursday, Moseley told an off-duty police officer working at Research Medical Center that he was turning himself in.

Officers found Hill fatally shot about 4 a.m. Thursday inside a home.
