MAPLE SHADE, N.J. (AP) - Officials on Thursday were investigating what caused a fire that caused extensive damage to a southern New Jersey condominium complex.

The fire broke out around 3:45 a.m. in the 12-unit Valley Glen condos.

It took firefighters from several communities about two hours to get the upper hand on the blaze, authorities said. They remained on the scene dousing several hot spots.

Residents were able to safely evacuate the complex, however one person was treated for smoke inhalation.

The Red Cross was helping to relocate displaced residents.
