Democrats and Never Trumpers cannot get any lower than to accuse President Trump of insulting our fallen troops (“Should Americans believe Trump or The Atlantic?” Web, Sept. 9). Why would Mr. Trump want to do that? And why would former National Security Adviser John Bolton want to lie for Mr. Trump after what’s transpired bewteen them? Mr. Bolton says The Atlantic story is not true.

As commander in chief, Mr. Trump has made the greatest efforts for our troops and veterans of any president in history. He rebuilt the Veterans Administration, got three pay raises for the military, got $2.5 trillion for the rebuilding of the armed forces into a gigantic deterrent, and created the Space Force. He is a great president who loves the military. He gives the greatest support to our troops in order to ensure peace. He does not believe in using the military as a police force for starting wars all over world that can never be won. His fired former chief of staff (a U.S. Marine general) is wrong if he criticizes Mr. Trump over use and interpretations of a few words.

The Atlantic is co-owned by the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs’ widow, millionaire Democrat mega-donor Laurene Powell Jobs (a friend of Hillary Clinton). The magazine is wrong to now publish an anonymous, fake story about something that supposedly happened two years ago. The allegation that Mr. Trump insulted fallen troops is refuted by the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mr. Bolton and White House staff members who were with Mr. Trump in France. They all denied that the president called buried fallen troops “suckers” and “losers.” The story in The Atlantic is apparently a coordinated, desperate effort by the Democratic Party and radical-leftist editor Jeffery Goldberg to turn the military against Mr. Trump because they believe Joe Biden will lose the upcoming election.
