NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - Two people are dead in an apparent murder-suicide, North Las Vegas police said Friday.
The bodies of a man and a woman in their 50s were found inside an apartment early Friday morning following a barricade situation, police said in a statement.
Police said the woman was armed and standing next to the man’s dead body when officers arrived in response to a report of a suicidal person.
The woman didn’t obey officers’ commands so they backed out of the residence and crisis negotiators, tactical officers and detectives were summoned as eight nearby apartments were evacuated, police said.
While the police response was underway, a gunshot was heard and a robot sent into the apartment found the woman dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
No identities were released and police said they didn’t know what led to the incident.
