GREEN PARK, Mo. (AP) - St. Louis County police say a man found dead in a quarry is the same man who ran away from police investigating suspicious people at a nearby business two weeks ago.

The body was found Wednesday in a quarry in south St. Louis County. Police on Thursday identified the victim as 29-year-old Jesse Goins. The cause of death remains under investigation but police say his body had no signs of trauma or broken bones.

On Sept. 24, police were called about suspicious people at an industrial complex. Responding officers took two suspects into custody but the third suspect ran off.

Relatives reported Goins missing on Sept. 27. His body was found Wednesday morning in about two feet of water surrounded by steep embankments.
