Joseph R. Biden’s campaign is putting its chips in with rapper Ludacris to increase turnout among Black voters.

The Democratic presidential nominee will run 60-second ads in key states featuring the man behind “Move B—,” and “Pimpin’ All Over the World.”

“If you’ve been out marching in these streets, exercise your rights. You now need to exercise you right to vote,” Ludacris, born Christopher Bridges, says in one spot.

Artists like Jermaine Dupri, Jeezy, and Monica have also been tapped for the “Get Out the Vote” spots.

Mr. Dupri told The Hollywood Reporter that many people are inclined to sit out the 2020 election.

“It is really really important to make sure people don’t sit at home,” he said Sunday. “There are a lot of people I know that are still on the fence about voting, period.”

The Biden campaign’s director of strategic communications, Kamau Marshall, touted the ads as another opportunity to focus on “meeting voters where they are with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ message to build back better.”

“[Our ’Shop Talk’ discussion series] and new GOTV ads with various influencers reach a critical audience of Black voters that we’re hoping to turn out this election,” Ms. Marshall told the entertainment magazine.
