OPINION:
Despite the hysteria from the media, President Trump won the first presidential debate. He won on the U.S. Supreme Court, law and order, and track record in politics. Joe Biden only won on the issue of COVID-19.
Michelle Obama once said, “When they go low, we go high.” Apparently not. Mr. Biden called the president a clown, a racist and many other insults. Mr. Trump had to bully his way through the debate because he had no protection from the moderator, Chris Wallace, or the format used. Mr. Wallace let Mr. Biden get away with many unanswered questions. Yet, Mr. Trump got Mr. Biden to reject the Green New Deal, the “defund the police” movement and other radical-leftist policies — which means Mr. Biden has alienated that base of the Democratic Party.
Clearly, the Trump team had a plan, which was to get Mr. Biden off-script. The main reason mainstream-media viewers and propagandist journalists crowned Mr. Biden the winner of the debate is that they set a very low standard for him. Many thought that because he’s in mental decline Mr. Biden would not have been able to debate for 90 minutes.
My advice to President Trump: Interject sometimes but not all the time. I believe the more time you give Mr. Biden to speak, the more mistakes he will make. My advice to the former vice president: In a boxing match you can’t slug with a great slugger. You have to box. Insulting President Trump will get you into problems. Try your best to stay on script. The president understands that this election is about the base and who can mobilize it on Election Day. He ain’t reaching out to no Democrats or independents.
