AURORA, Colo. (AP) - One person is dead after a large fire tore through an apartment complex in suburban Denver, forcing residents to jump from windows to escape the flames.

Sentinel Colorado reports Aurora firefighters responding to the fire late Thursday night extricated multiple people from the three-story building. Authorities say 13 people were injured, including five who were taken to the hospital.

One of the victims, whose name and age have not been released, died sometime Friday morning.

Aurora Fire Rescue officials say about 60 people were displaced by the blaze, and the local branch of the American Red Cross is working to provide temporary housing to those who can’t return to their homes.

Investigators have not said what caused the fire.
