WATERFORD, Conn. (AP) - No explosives or suspicious packages were found at a Connecticut high school that was evacuated Thursday morning after someone called in a bomb threat, police said.
Waterford High School received the call at about 7:30 a.m., after students had arrived for the day, said police Lt. Tim Silva. The threat did not appear to be credible, but police searched the school with dogs trained in detecting bombs just in case, he said.
No arrests were announced.
The school was evacuated as rain fell and the temperature was in the 40s. Police secured areas inside the school where students and staff returned briefly before school officials decided to send students home for the day.
