SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (AP) - A pedestrian has been killed by a train in Springfield, police said.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a train crash involving a pedestrian just before 1 p.m. Monday, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Deputies responded with firefighters and found a person on the the tracks who was pronounced dead, the sheriff’s office said.



The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death with the Lane County Medical Examiner’s Office. The person’s identity has not yet been determined.
