LAS VEGAS (AP) - A dispute between neighbors may have played a role in a homicide in northeast Las Vegas, authorities said.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said they were called out to the scene of a shooting around 6 p.m. Saturday and they found a man in his early 30s with a single gunshot wound.
The man was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Witnesses told police the incident began with a man and woman who were neighbors argued and it escalated to the suspect pulling out a gun and shooting the victim.
Several neighbors tackled the suspect and wrestled the gun away from her before she fled the scene and left her two children behind.
Child Protective Services were called in to take possession of the children.
Police said there apparently had been an ongoing dispute between the neighbors, including several arguments over a barking dog.
The name of the woman involved in the shooting and the man who died weren’t immediately released by police.
