GARBERVILLE, Calif. (AP) - Humboldt County’s marijuana enforcement team shut down a large illegal grow and seized firearms this week, the Sheriff’s Office said.
A warrant served Wednesday on three parcels east of Garberville led to eradication of 11,000 growing cannabis plants, destruction of more than 4,700 pounds (2,132 kilograms) of processed cannabis and more than 1,100 pounds (499 kilograms) of scraps known as shake.
The warrant was based on a complaint from the cannabis-regulating division of the California Department of Food and Agriculture.
The Sheriff’s Office said the parcels had the required county permit but did not have a state license for commercial cannabis cultivation.
Both the permit and the license are required for commercial cultivation, it said.
In addition to the cannabis, deputies seized two fully automatic firearms and a short-barreled rifle.
There were no arrests.
