OPINION:
Whether you like the current U.S. president or not, you might want to view the record of TV broadcast coverage on the evening of the 2016 election. Records of talking heads and other assorted “experts” reveal the antipathy the upper crust has for middle-, working- and lower-class Americans.
Educated at elite universities, employed in top-tier professions and traveling, marrying, vacationing and living in exclusive (closed) social circles, these few were in lock-step, stupefying shock at the realization that their chosen one (Mrs. Hillary Clinton) had been denied her birthright residency in the Oval Office. Any fair-minded adult cannot but be dismayed at the nakedly partisan, overwrought declarations made about the pending disasters that awaited citizens, especially those favored, sliced and diced by Democrats into “victim” groups.
While pontificating about the obvious mental deficiencies and wrong-headed thinking among the voting public, these geniuses did everything but face the reality that someone other than a career politician, connected to special-interest groups, might actually be better for the average working Joe. To watch their reactions is to be astonished. And they had been undermining the man even before he won the presidency, and they’ve been undermining him without pause ever since.
Ask yourself (for they will not), what their sheer abandonment of reality will finally lead to for America. Their lust for raw power cannot be satiated. Honesty requires it be admitted that some among these men and women are pathologically unstable and dangerous — if not to themselves, then to the general public. So satisfied and confident are they in their self-perpetuating universe that the rule of law, health of the country and respect for its unique heritage are of no matter.
