LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A Florida woman has died after driving a car into a lake, authorities said.
The car went into Lake Osborne near Lake Worth Beach early Wednesday morning, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office report.
Rhonda Lou Simmons, 58, was driving on a road that ran along the lake when for an unknown reason, the vehicle went off the right side of the road, hit a wood fence and fell into the water, deputies said.
Rescue workers pulled the woman from the car and took her to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead, officials said.
The report didn’t say whether Simmons died from drowning or some other cause.
