OPINION:
I used to think that a few new amendments to the Constitution might be a way to rein in the government. But now I see the futility of that approach. The Constitution we have now is nearly perfect; there is no point in changing it. The problem is that the Constitution has proven to be about as effective at limiting the powers of government as gun laws are at keeping guns from criminals. For the same reason, too: Criminals don’t care about the law.
The evidence is clear. All three branches of our government participated in various ways to first try to affect a presidential election, and then to sabotage the new administration. People need to see justice done. If the rule of law breaks down, then it would seem we are out of options to peaceably fix this. What happens then?
