TAKOMA PARK, Md. (AP) - A 2-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries in a fall from the third-floor window of a Maryland apartment building on Sunday, authorities said.
The Washington Post reports that the toddler was taken to a hospital after falling between 30 and 40 feet around 1:30 p.m. at a residential complex in Takoma Park, a suburb of Washington, D.C.
Takoma Park police said the child was in critical condition and that the fall is under investigation.
Pete Piringer, a spokesman for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, said authorities found a screen on the ground and an open window above in the building.
