WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - A 26-year-old Massachusetts man has been seriously injured after his motorcycle collided with a car on Sunday, Worcester police said.

The crash happened around 6 p.m. and involved a 2002 Volkswagen Golf and a motorcycle.

Police say the 73-year-old driver of the Volkswagen was making a left turn when a man driving a Yamaha off-road motorcyclist at a high rate of speed crashed into his vehicle.

The motorcyclist, who was not identified by police, was traveling with a group of other motorcycle riders.

He was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries and is listed in critical condition, according to police. The Volkswagen driver was uninjured.
