Wichita police say 80-year-old man killed in hit-and-run

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - An 80-year-old man has died after being hit by a pickup truck that fled the scene, Wichita police said Wednesday.

James Kaminksy was struck Tuesday evening by a white pickup truck while walking across a road to his house, police said. He died later at a hospital.

Police said a person of interest has been identified in the case and alcohol is believed to be a factor.
