NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A change-of-plea hearing has been set for two New Orleans musicians facing criminal charges arising from their time as board members on a charitable board.
Federal court records show the hearing is scheduled for Nov. 10 for trumpet player Irvin Mayfield and pianist Ronald Markham. Markham is a longtime friend and business partner of Mayfield and the two perform together.
They are former board members of the charitable New Orleans Public Library Foundation. They face money laundering and fraud charges stemming from accusations that they spent money raised for public libraries on themselves.
They were indicted in 2017. Both have pleaded not guilty.
