Regardless of who ends up the victor in Tuesday’s presidential election, rioting, looting, shootings and general mayhem should not be tolerated, no matter where they may occur. But as with everything else regarding President Trump and this election, the leftist news media are doing their best to assure that tensions and unrest remain high post-election.

With near moral certainty, managing and accurately counting mail-in ballots in speedy fashion will continue to be a mess. It was reported, for example, that Pennsylvania would not even begin counting mail-in ballots until after the polls closed. That guarantees long delays in reporting results. Lost ballots, suspicious voter signatures (or no signatures at all), mail-in box tampering and long delays are a recipe for ballot manipulation and fraud. The odds of chaos are very high.

Losing politicians will continue to complain bitterly that they were cheated out of victory, and they will demand recounts. Remember 2000’s Florida presidential election results? In particular, Broward County’s inept election supervisor couldn’t accurately count machine ballot cards with hanging chads. The resulting squabble went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. Democrats still whine resentfully about the court’s decision in favor of George W. Bush. This election could travel a similar path.

As usual, lawyers will be the ones to benefit from the contention and maladroit processing of ballots. They’ll have a field day constipating court calendars with suits challenging results, and judges, not voters, will end up deciding outcomes.
