Man who slipped out of handcuffs then got hit by a car dies

LAS VEGAS (AP) - A man who slid out of handcuffs then was struck by a vehicle in Las Vegas has died, police said.

The man was arrested Nov. 16 after a hit-and-run incident. While police investigated the situation, the suspect slipped out of his handcuffs, fled across traffic lanes and was struck by a vehicle.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he died on Thursday, police said.

The man’s identity has not yet been released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
