BOUSE, Ariz. (AP) - Arizona state troopers have arrested at least two possible suspects after a drive-by killing in Nevada and a series of shootings in both states, law enforcement officials say.
The drive-by attack early Thursday at a convenience store in Henderson killed a 22-year-old man, the Henderson Police Department said in a statement. Three men and a woman received wounds that were not believed to be life-threatening.
“Preliminarily it is believed that the suspects were driving around the city randomly shooting at citizens with no apparent motive,” the statement said.
While the Nevada agency said a man and a woman were arrested, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said three suspects were arrested late Thursday near Bouse in rural La Paz County.
Authorities have not identified any of the suspects.
Arizona DPS spokesman Raul Garcia confirmed Friday in a brief statement that a state trooper was involved in a shooting with the suspects east of Bouse, but said no troopers were wounded.
Garcia said he expected more information would be released later in the day.
The La Paz County Sheriff’s Department reported there were a series of shootings in Bouse and Parker. La Paz County Sheriff William Risen told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that one suspect was taken to a hospital.
No information has been released on that person’s condition. The sheriff’s office did not immediately respond Friday to repeated requests for additional details.
Bouse is 156 miles (262 kilometers) south of Henderson.
