ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - One person was killed and four people were hospitalized after a head-on collision in Anne Arundel County, police said Tuesday.
A news release from Anne Arundel County Police said a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze was following a Dodge Ram pickup truck westbound on Chesapeake Beach Road on Monday when the Chevrolet crossed the centerline and into the opposite lane and a no passing zone.
According to police, the Chevrolet hit a 2012 Honda Accord heading eastbound. Passengers from both cars had to be extracted from the wreckage by rescue personnel, and one of them died Tuesday morning from their injuries, the news release said.
Three of the four people injured were taken by helicopter to a Baltimore hospital, while a fourth person was taken to a hospital for injuries not believed to be life-threatening, police said.
An investigation into the crash is continuing, police said.
