SALEM, Mo. (AP) - Authorities say a Missouri woman was backed over and killed while kneeling near a minivan.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the victim as Valeria Hopwood, of Salem. The patrol said the driver of the minivan didn’t see Hopwood before hitting her Friday afternoon.

Hopwood was taken to the hospital where she later died. KYTV reports that the driver was arrested on suspicion of drug possession and not registering her vehicle.
