Three men have been charged with killing a 10-year-old Tennessee girl in a drive-by shooting, authorities said.
Jason Bryan Barber II, 18; Jediah Shane Glover, 20; and Zachary Scalf, age not given, were each charged on Thursday with murder, criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, news outlets reported, citing a statement from the Carter County Sheriff’s Office.
The are charged in the death of Lillyhanna Davis, who was fatally shot Tuesday morning as she slept on a couch in her Elizabethton home. The residence was riddled with bullets from at least two weapons and it appeared that shots were fired from a slow-moving vehicle, authorities said.
Investigators said they were told Tuesday’s shooting was in retaliation for a Halloween night shooting that wounded a man who got into an altercation with a resident of the Elizabethton home, according to a sheriff’s department affidavit.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether any of the men charged have attorneys.
