PAWTUCKET, R.I. (AP) - Police continue to investigate a weekend shooting in Pawtucket that left a 22-year-old man dead.

Officers responding to reports of a shooting went to the area of Lonsdale Avenue at Mineral Spring Avenue at around 10:45 p.m. Saturday, police said in a statement.

A short time later, the victim showed up at Miriam Hospital with a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

His name has not been made public.

The victim appears to have been targeted and police do not think the shooting is connected to another fatal shooting in the city last week.
